Tips for completing beneficiary information in Online Banking/Mobile App

 

*Transfers to Credit Card and Loan accounts will be rejected automatically

 

If you’ve recently tried to make an online transfer to another local bank or credit union account and it was returned, here're tips to help you complete the required fields correctly.


Instant Payment

Instant transfers** are forwarded to the payee's bank within 3 minutes of the transfer being submitted, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. 

**Maximum of BDS$20,000 can be transferred in one transaction | Maximum of BDS$40,000 per day 

 

*Transfers to Credit Card and Loan accounts will be rejected automatically


Urgent (via RTGS)

Urgent Transfers (within 1 business day)

 

Urgent transfers** sent before the submission deadline are forwarded to the payee's bank* on the same day.

Urgent transfers sent after the submission deadline are forwarded to the payee's bank* on the next business day.

Transfers sent on weekends/public holidays will be forwarded to the payee's bank on the next business day.

A fee of BDS$10 is applied to Urgent Transfers. 

*There is no guarantee that the payee's account will be credited on the same day that the funds are forwarded to their bank.

**Over BDS$500,000 can be  transferred in one transaction

Barbados Public Workers Cooperative Credit Union (BPWCCUL)

Tips:

  • Enter the account number without any share id e.g 023789 and not 023789-01. The -01 is usually the share id.

  • In some instances, if the account number is only 5 digits please place a zero at the beginning of the number e.g: 011111 and not 11111

Royal Bank of Canada (RBC)

Tips: 

  • Beneficiary Account Number: 1234567 (Example) - Only 7 digits required
  • No transit code is required in the account number field
  • Select the branch where the account was opened and not where the payee does their business (Example - If an account was opened at RBTT Six Roads, even though the physical location is no longer there, they must use that for the transfer to work)

Republic Bank (Barbados) Limited

Tips:

  • Account numbers are comprised of 12 digits in all instances. This is separate and distinct from the Branch codes
  • Account numbers will always begin with 01, 02, 04, 05, 06, 09, 10, 14, 17, 30, or 70. While these are somewhat in line with the Branch Codes, the Branch Code is separate and distinct

Scotiabank (BNSB)

Tips:

  • Only the payee’s account number is required, no transit code
  • The account number should be 9-digits. If the account number is less than 9-digits, please add zeros at the beginning (Example - 123456 should be 000123456)
  • A Branch location must be selected (Broad St/Bridgetown | Haggatt Hall | Rockley | Warrens)

Tips:

  • Account numbers are comprised of 11 digits in all instances, no transit is required

Tips:

*Transfer Type: Another CIBC Caribbean customer

Check the account number field:

  • Beneficiary name: BWU Co-operative Credit Union Ltd
  • Beneficiary account number: 1000324440
  • Comments: For further credit to member’s name and Credit Union A/C#

 

Important Notice: 

On completion of transfer, you are required to send an email to payrolls@bwuccu.com indicating the following:

 

  • Sender’s name (optional)
  • Amount of local currency
  • Transaction ID / Reference number
  • CIBC Caribbean account number where funds were remitted
  • Name of the Credit Union member
  • Account number of the Credit Union member
  • Date of transaction

City of Bridgetown Co-Op Credit Union (COB)

Tips:

  • Enter the account number and not the member number. No spaces or dashes are to be entered.
  • The account number can be confirmed by accessing either COB’s Mobile App or Online Banking Platform or it can be viewed on account statements.

Lifetime requires an email sent to deposit@lifetimecu.com, stating the member's name, account number and the amount transferred.
